Sweet and boring life of Natalie

So here whats been happening.

I am a medical child. I have a heart murmer, no thyroid gland, broken some bones before, skin problems.... do you want me to keep going?

Well lately I have been seeing my cardiologist and they have said that my heart condition has up graded in severety from mild to moderate. NOw that may not seem like a lot, but it scares me. THey said that I need to exercise and eat right.

Also, I have had surgery almost a year ago. They took my thyroid out. With that surgery, I was told you either gain or loose weight. Well with they way things were looking, it seem that i was gaining weight. Here we are almost a year later and my surgeon finally let me go and found we an endochronologist. I asked her if weight loss and thyroid surgery was true, she said, NO THAT IS A MYTH.

Well, I have taken all these doctor's appts seriously and as a MAJOR wake up call that i need to take time for myself and be active. I have been at it for almost 3 months. So for things are looking really good. If our scale is right, (it is a pretty old scale) i have lost some weight. THere is hope. I am sorry I am bragging, but i treat my blog as my public journal. My goal, go back to the heart doc in july and here them say, weight is down and things are looking... either the same, or.... things are looking bettter.

What else is happenign? I am obsessed with the NBA this season. I love the celtics. And they are ranked 2 in the league. I feel really bad for the jazz. They have so much potential but are really struggling right now.
I love Glee. And can't wait to go to the concert in May.
School is rough but I am finally figuring out how to study.
Primary is fun

Grandma Huber

Its been a while since I blogged but I think it is time I post a good one. So on Saturday January 22, my Grandma Huber passed away. She was old and her health was not good, but it happened suddenly. I love my Grandma. I had a special relationship with her.

I think (I could be wrong) I was her only grandchild who she would call, "A Big Brat" and be threatened by her crutch.

Some of my favorite memories of my Grandma would probably be her swimming pool days in the summer. She LOVED having as many grandkids as she could get out to her pool on the hot summer days. SHe would sit in the same chair, have her mug with diet coke, and be our lifeguard. She would yell at us when we were being stupid and unsafe.
My Grandma was a trooper! Somehow every year, despite health problems, she would throw one huge Christmas bash! I remember hit sitting in this chair every year all Christmas day long and just enjoy being surrounded by her family. I think she loved making us smile, she loved hearing us talk, she loved hearing us laugh. She would fall asleep in this chair. And I get my title of "brat" beccause my Grandma did not like getting her picture taken. So I got a few funny pics.
My Grandma was a huge University of Utah fan. She bleeds red. Maybe that is where I got my Utes Genes. She is a firm believer in obtaining a college education. I know she LOVED seeing her grandchildren grow and go through college. She was alive to see alot graduate, and I know she will be at every other one of her grandchildren's graduation in spirit. She was a HUGE supporter. I don't think I would keep going without the support of her and my Grandpa. This past semester (fall 2010) I took a Human Anatomy class. Grandma became my study buddy and would ask me about my class everytime i would see her. She would talk to me about anatomy all the way up to my final. SHe would wave her arm and flex around and ask me to name it. I loved how into my schooling she got. She loved talking about the U campus and hearing me say the names of buildings that I have class in that she had classes in too. I always teased her and would tell her that I would call her if I get lost. She knows the U campus with her eyes closed.

My Grandma loves her family! She loved having all 50+ of us gather in a room. She loved hearing about us grandkids getting together and hanging out. I am so grateful to have cousins that I can look to as my best friends. I blame that on my Grandma, keeping us together.
And finally, my Grandma and Grandpa taught and still are teaching the importance of a temple marriage. They have been married for almost 60 years this march. From what I heard from one of my aunts, they have a family of 54 people total. That is soooo awesome. They may have not said it straight up, but by seeing their example, they have taught me the importance of temple marriage and its key in returning to my Heavenly Father. My Grandparents love each other so much. They always by each others sides every step of the way, whether it was trials, or just being together. They never seperated. I hope and pray someday that I can find my prince charming, like my Grandma did, and marry him and celebrate 60+ years of marriage.
I love my Grandma! I will miss her so much! But I know that she is in a better place and she is not in pain, no oxygen, and she is standing up straight. I bet my Grandpa Stapley has already talked to her. I bet she is with her Dad, Mom, and many other relatives. I know that she is going to do amazing things in the spirit world. I know that I will be with her again.

I love you Grandma

Gosh this is hard

SO I am in college. But it is hard. I started off as a freshmen on a rough road... transitioning into it and what not. Then my down hill began to start coming up-hill. I was feeling ok about this whole college aspect and began passing classes with decent grades. Then the thought of having a major surgery came into play, I was a nervous wreck for a whole semester and classes were not in my favor. SO I have entered this fall semester with a "pumped" attitude wanting to try my best. Got the results of my first test back. Still below where I want to be, but I am not testing at the LOW end of the group anymore... mostly in the average group. Do I have to be that A student to graduate? If I do, I have a LONG ways to go. Am I the only student that struggles? I am frustrated because I am in my 3rd year and things are TOUGH! I guess college is just rough. I have set me a goal, from the rough turnout of last spring semester to just get B's and C's this fall. SO far I am a little discouraged but I have to remember, Its only the first tests, I have 2 more + the finals to improve on and get POINTS!!!!
