SNOWSTORM 2008

So I don't know if you have heard... but it snowed ALOT!!! Remember back at the first week of December, it was like almost spring-like weather? And we were all wondering, IS THERE GOING TO BE A WHITE CHRISTMAS??? Well my friends, we got a white christmas afterall if you have not been able to tell. Well I don't know why, it seems my neighborhood got SLAMMED. Stranded cars, HUGE SNOW PILES, 5-10 feet snow drifts in my back yard... IT WAS CRAZY!!!! We as a family team did manage to dig out of the driveway.... so i thought i would share some photos of the days.........

Picture 4- This is my favorite. We opened the door on the side of the garage and found this.... a five-ish foot snow drift up against it. Can you see how far the snow comes up? Lauren is also out there somewhere. And we dug a little tunnel through it but sadly had to destory it.

Huber Progressive Dinner 2008

Sorry, but i am doing two posts in one day. This one is a little more meaningful then the one earlier today. So here it goes.

So this evening, we had our yearly Huber Family Progessive Dinner. I thought it was a very fun night. Its always nice to get together with family and forget about the world and just have a freakin blast and enjoy each other's company. And well thats just what we did. HYPOCRITES

I just witnessed a hypocrite today... it hurt me real bad. I just don't understand what they are thinking... I am sorry if i have ever been a hypocrite to any of you.... i think i am officially going to change my ways.

I am a college student.

For those of you who know me, I am a college student. I just finished (don't know if i sucessfully finished) my first semester at the U of U. Well now I am on christmas break and looking to be living at the pool making money so i can pay tuition next semester without problems.
Well tonight at work, these high school age lifeguards said, "Hey Natalie, do you need any shifts off?" I was like, "No way, I am a poor college student" They said, (this is what made me WAY mad)"But I am a poor High School Student" I don't remember what I said, but i was on my soap box yelling, "YOU DON"T HAVE TO PAY TUITION!!!" and another co-worker (college aged friend) said, "duh, they don't even KNOW what poor is untill you experience paying tuition for the first time" I don't know, just if your a high school lifeguard, during the christmas holidays, you should never ask college aged workers for their shifts because it is most likely, they are trying to pay tuition the next semester.

Inspirational, motivational, awesome thought

So here is a very inspirational thought to get you going, or just keep you going in your everyday life. If I heard correctly, there is an 87 Year Old man in my math class. I just think it rocks because it keeps me from complaining about life when ever he shows up to class. He is so cute, he sits on the second row and still uses binoculars to read the board. Tell me that is not a cool story.... oh and yes, he did sing at our extra credit math karaoke night. He is asian so he sang in the asian language. It is so cool.

Here is a random video for the day.... I know which video my family will say but which one is the best??? THis first one is Mr. John Lennon himself. I think this one would still be my favorite one. Sorry i could not find one of him singing. But it works.

THis second verson is Mr. David Cook American Idol season 7 or 8 (wow i am having a brain fart). I thought it was VERY good to Mr. Lennon. I liked every second of it and he didn't ruin the song either in my opinion.

And now I am going to practice my first ammendment rights. Freedom of speech. THis next one is celine dion. I am sorry I CANNOT STAND HEARING IT! sorry to all you Celine fans, i just can't handle her destorying a John Lennon song.

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?!?!!?!?

Did any of you take a look across the valley today? CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!! I was at school today driving around and such and had to take NOT 1 but 2 detours up on the U of U hospitol road to take a look across that beautiful valley! It was so nice. Also being up there on the hill, it was so clear, you could see the airplanes perfectly in the glare of the sun. I don't think this post made any sense at all. I love clean air!

Still thankful... even after Thanksgiving...

So I figured since half the fellow bloggers did a post on what they were thankful for, I figured I could have my turn and share with you what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for My WHOLE family! My mom, Dad, Sisters, Cousins, Grandparents, aunts, uncles.... YOU NAME IT! Family will always be there in times of need and will ALWAYS be your best friends.

I am thankful for food. I love food, even though it has had bad side effects on my hips and butt.

This is probably way cheesy and major brown nosing, but i am thankful for my boss. She is always there to talk, work, school, religion, boys, gossip about boys. It nice to practically have a second mother to go to in times of need.

I am thankful for my friends. Most of my friends are practically family. I am thankful for them and dealing with me and my weirdness.

I am thankful for the church. I love church. Especially primary! Go singing time! WOOT WOOT. Just so the parents of my primary class kids know, they have the coolest kids. Even though they are young-ins, they already have testimonies a growin. I have THE coolest class right now and will be sad when the new year comes around and they all move up.

I am thankful for cycling, it helps equalize the delicious food as mentioned above. And it is fun to sweat every now and then

I am thankful for life. Life is great. I am still young and I know there is a lot in store for me in the future.

Now this list could go on and on! And I am most thankful for you faithful blog readers. I am sorry i try to commet on all of yours but its good to know i am not wasting my time and people are reading whats on my mind.

I almost thought we were under ATTACK!

So my dad and I were driving down the free-way towards HAPPY VALLEY UTAH. We were only going to Cabella's so we weren't going all the way to happy valley. But anyways, as we were driving, this HUGE THING pulled the side of us. I thought it was a HUGE BOMB but then when i caught a second look, it was a HUGE Airplane wing. Take a look! There was also another wing up further on another trailor. Its not everyday you see this happening. I took these pictures on my phone...

Blog #102 Dedicated to the Mighty UTES!

So you probably have already heard, but in case you haven't, the Utah Utes are officially 12-0!!! Can I get a WOOT WOOT!!!!! It is just so nice to finally be in a school that has an awesome football team. I loved my High School but just was not into football. GO UTES! There is just nothing more i can say, GO UTES! And i hope they can win their bowl game!!! WOOT WOOT! Sadly to say, i have no pictures from the Utah Vs. BYU game so i thought i would share these ones with you from the OSU game. Keep in mind from this game, i was ultra tired due to the face that i had been up all week doing a paper.

So i don't know why but I always seem to fall down at school. I have fallen down 3 times. One of the times was when i was being a "cool college kid" and cut across the grass. Well the other 2 times were pretty much on flat surfaces. Ask me how i do it? well i don't really know. Well yesterday, I fell down on my knee. Pretty much straight on my knee cap. (think of me talking in an English Accent) It really Hurt and It still Hurts!!!!!!!!!!! I does not look that bad but it hurts really bad. Here is a picture from yesterday. I am thankful for my family!

I hope this does not sound cheesy, but lately i have realized how grateful i am for my family. I love my immediate family as well as my extended family. I have realized in times of trouble, the family is always there and they will be your best friends.... ALWAYS!!! And another thing why i am grateful for my WHOLE family is that I can just be my crazy, nerdy, retarded self. Here are some pictures of my sexy family.

I am sorry to this BYU fan!

SO i was inspired to share my BYU fan story. I can handle BYU people, this kid just hit one of my breaking points. I was on facebook. My status says, "GO UTES" Now, is that a bad thing? to epxress yourself and say GO UTES? well some kid whom i hardly remember wrote on my profile and said, "Utes Suck" I was like, GASP rude? (And what did i ever do to this kid?) SO i wrote back saying, "Did you see the game? Tell me there record, isn't it 10-0? " He said, "LONGEST LAMEST GAME EVER" SO i found him on like the "facebook Chat" thing and said to his face, "your not very nice" he said, "I am a cougar" No for me this put a lot of bad pictures/thoughts on BYU. SO apparently Cougars are mean. I responded back, "still your not ever nice" he said, "Utes bash on me all the time" I said, "Name the last time i bashed on you (i don't really know this kid very well)... which was NEVER" I think he may have said sorry. I also said, "how do i know you?" he said, "school" I said "kearns" he said , "CHHS" I said I graduated from kearns, this shut him up and he finally stopped arguing with me. I Did nothing to deserve a "UTES SUCK" commett. GRRRRR
I have a lot of respect for BYU people. I really do, just sometimes the fans are a little mean to me FOR NO HACKIN REASON AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know if you heard, but the Utah Utes are 10-0 this football season....I am crossing my fingers till after November 22 to see if they can keep their undefeated season so we shall see. I had a horrible experience with a BYU fan today, if you want details, you will have to see me in person so i can explain the story. it is quite rude.... and i did nothing wrong

but 10-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?

And Utah needs to stop keeping us to the very last 2 minutes of every game to make a major come back... it stresses me out

GO UTES

CONSTRUCTION IS CRAP.... Especiallly at school

So i think my good cousin peter and elder siblings are correct. Construction is life at the University Of Utah. They are doing who knows what just outside my math class and it is starting to foul up my routine. I have noticed college kids seem to have routines and walk the same paths every day. Well with this construction, it is messing up my "routine" and making me HACKIN mad. They need to get rid of it seeing that i am a huge deal and deserve alot more. Anyways, theres a random rant for the day

Today is very boring its a very boring day....

I can't believe how hackin boring trax has been lately. THere has been no one that i can make fun of. Nothing has happened that is funny. I did have a special thing happen to me last week. I was on the train coming home from a long day at school. At one of the stops, a big group of special needs kids get on (for those of you who don't know, i have always have had a special place in my heart for special needs people. Love them dearly). One of the girls who was down syndrome sat next to me. She looks at me not even the slightest idea who i am and says, "how you doin" i said "just fine how are you" . She said "I'm Natalie" i got soooo excited and said back, "I am Natalie too" we talked about lots of things for about 10-15 minutes like we have known each other forever. It totally made my week. :)
But today is very boring.... its a very boring day.

Not a good snack time topic

EWWWWWW so i am sitting at school in a little cafe area eating a little snack between class. I couldn't help but to notice this guy's lap top next to me..... he is studying human anatomy and is looking at gross pictures of the body. It is not helping with my tender appitite. (oh no i don't know if that is the right spelling)

Here's a first for ya...

So I was driving to work today.... It was during the school bus hours. I came by a bus and couldnt help but notice the driver. It was some young chick with really LONG blonde hair.... it was kinda curly-ish wavie-ish.... and she had a cowboy hat and a really tight shirt. WEll when i drove past her, guess what she was doing? Keep in mind, she is driving a school bus........ Well this Chick Driver was CHECKING HER PHONE.... PROBABLY HER TEXT MESSAGES TO BE IN PARTICULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But yeah! Now IDK if there were kids on the bus or not.... but still a bus driver texting/checkin her phone.... WOW explain to me that one...

I Love Sunbeams and Ward Librarians

Random story of they day, I was sitting in with my little primary class and we finished our little lesson with 5-10 minutes of class time to kill. I decieded to have a staring contest with one of the little girls in my class.... I LOST. Man she creamed me in the contest. I thought i was pretty good too. I tried messing with her mind, SHE NEVER GAVE IN!!!!! Man she needs to teach me some of her mad skills...
Another side note, i Love WARD LIBRARIANS. I think they have one of the most stressful jobs in the ward.... next to the bishop and his counselors. Think about it, the librarian has to be there so everyone can get final items for their lessons. Now if the librarian NO SHOWS, then the ward falls apart!!!!!! People running everywhere to find a key, and then they are late for the next block of church, and it is just chaotic. I have subbed for the librarian before for just like 10-15 minutes and oh boy, i am So not trained in ward librarian skills. I didn't know where to find anything. I am grateful for my ward librarian. She keeps it running so smoothly!!! She knows where EVERYTHING is! And she lets me behind the counter even when there is a sign saying that "children are not aloud behind the counter"

So I was downtown for my good friends wedding and had a break in the activities and I took the chance to escape to Temple Square. It was so pretty. There were tourists galore!!! It made me start thinking how blessed we are to be so close to Temple Square. We have it so nice. Some of the people i saw walking around yesterday probably had traveled from other states and possibly other countries. I just think it is so neat how people travel here to see Temple Square. Well i don't know what say anymore.... enjoy these pictures....

• School is going ok. I am not very good at the tests yet.
• I have not become extinct from the pool yet. Only working 2 days a week. But hey i am not complaining
• My Government professor looks like Farmer Haggett from babe.
• THe institute study area is really loud because there are some people practicing their spanish
• ITS MISSIONARY WEEK AT INSTITUTE!!!!!!

• No boyfriend for me. I guess its a good thing
• My feet hurt
• The button on my skirt popped off today.

something that bugs me...

Know what bugs me? When you have some sort of a nickname and somebody you know calls you it and you don't like it because they never use this 'nickname' or don't know you well enough to use it. Thats what bugs me. Now since mostly my family reads this, I don't mind it at all when you call me 'Nat' or 'Nat-Nat' just some people in the world don't deserve to use that name on me.
Another thing is when you and your friend have a special name for one another. Like I had a friend and we would have special nicknames for one another and then i introduced my friends to this friend and they are using my nickname for this friend when it was our thing!

I LOOOVVVVEEEE LIBRARIES

So I am on a break from my classes and went to the library. I am hiding in the HUGE computer lab away from EVERYONE. Natalie Edge is sitting next to me. She was doing homework and now just gave a huge stretch. and is drinking who knows what. I just love killing time in the library. And then some worker lady came and cleaned the computer next to me and it scared the living #$(& out of me. Now there is a kid next to me.... seems he is tired or is trying to impress me which BTW is way hard to do. But I love libraries. One of my favorite spots to hide is on the second floor in a computer away from everyone! BUT I LOOOVVVVEEEE LIBRARIES

GO UTES!!!!!!

Sorry this one is extremely short. Pretty much all i have to say is GO UTES!!! They are off to a really good season. I am in the MUSS so i will be at all their home games... including the BYU game. (I am super excited for that one because i have never been to a UTAH vs. BYU game so i am pretty excited) BUt yes, GO UTES!!! Lets hope they can keep it up.

Read with a child 20 minutes a day...

Ok so I loved Gov. Olene Walker. Remember her thing, "read with a child 20 minutes a day..." well i don't think she would have been happy with me and my buddy. We went out in the middle of no where and shot some guns and stuff. Well my friend had this book... we blew it to pieces. It was totally awesome. I don't think Gov. Walker would have appreciated it. I am in College!!!

I have officially survived the first two days of school. I like college so far. Its way different, but I like it. The weirdest thing for me was like having married people and older people in my classes. But i am excited.

THe commute was weird. I mostly liked staring at all the weird people. And somehow my dad knows EVERYONE on the bus so it is entertaining to watch him on the bus. Trax is interesting and very dirty. DOn't worry, Lauren and I have our own personal hand sanitizers. So yeah, a good first two days.

So me and some of my friends went to yellowstone a few weeks ago. It was totally awesome. From what i remember, we saw 4 BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 were black and the other 2 were grizzley. One of the Grizzlies had just killed an elk and was sitting in its carcass eating it to bits. We also saw a moose. I LOVE MOOSE. . . My favorited animal. WE also hiked thoses stairs. I believe they are called Uncle Tom's Staircase. Easy going down them but a major work out going up. But since i am not much of a writer, i will display quite a few pics and tell you about them...

American Idol's Live Tour 2008

So I had the awesome opportunity to go to the American Idol concert when the tour passed through Utah. Thanks to some friends, the tickets were very cheap. The whole thing was pretty much amazing. BUt i have to say, David Archuleta and David Cook rocked!!!!!!!! The crowd made Archuleta cry.. it was so cute. But anyways, here are some pictures my friends gave me. Sorry for being bad with my blog lately... but here is a good post

This is kinda scary...

So today at work I saw the scariest thing happen but it didn't. Let me explain. So a gentlemen was coming to jump into the pool. He basically dove over his little kid. The way he dove was not good at all. I knew something bad would have happened to him. He came up from under water grabbing his head. He smacked it on the ground. I was so sure that we were going to have to back board the guy. I jumped down from his stand and basically had to chase him because he ran away. So I was able to catch up to him. He and his cute little family were definately going to the ER. I hope he is ok. Sorry random experience i wanted to share.

LAGOON

So yesterday I had the awesome opportunity to go to Lagoon with some really good friends of mine. It was way fun but really hot!!! I had a couple of highlights throughout the day. First of all... I wore a Kearns Cougars shirt. Me and my friends were walking through some pavallion areas were we could see there had been beer and stuff. Well anyways we passed this dude who had to be drunk. All of the sudden he saw my kearns shirt and yelled... "YEAH...(weird pauses).... KEARNS... (Another weird pause).... RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was so funny. I think i just smiled and walked on. It was so funny. And I swear... this dude was drunk. His eyes were not holding still.

The next highlight of my trip was the new roller coaster called Wicked. It was totally cool. You start out in a tunnel and then you hit these magnet things and it speeds you up and you shoot up over this completely vertical hill and down the vertical hill. Oh my lanta it was a rush. It was definately worth the wait. The whole time i was thinking of the musical wicked and the song Defying Gravity. I have posted the song listen if you want. Below are some pictures of the sweet
roller coaster...The video recording of the singer isn't the greatest but hey, i wish i could sing like her (oh and BTW I have heard better performances of them)....




The final hightlight of my day was the sky coaster. I basically gave into peer pressure and paid extra money to go on it. It was totally worth it. At first i was like freaking out. My poor friend who rode with me, I almost broke her arm off when they were still hooking us up. I think the worst part about it was going up because it kept going and going and it felt like i was leaning foreward. I didn't like that feeling. My dear friend listened to me freaking out the whole time. Once you reach the top, you just hang there then the people on the ground have a speaker system and yell, "FLYERS are you ready?!" Then we the "flyers" give a thumbs up. Then the person yells, "3,2,1 and FLY" Then either you or your buddy pulls a cord and away you fly. I made my sweet friend pull the cord seeing that she had been on it before. It was so scary (not gonna lie) but totally worth it. Thank you friend for pulling the cord. I know i couldn't have done it. Below is a video of how a sky coaster works if you didn't know. Oh and it is not me or at lagoon. It is a totally random coaster.


I also realized how grateful i am for friends. Friends who actually care and listen to you when you talk. Friends who like hanging out with you. Friends who basically love you. It is nice to have these friends there to talk to.
