Finally America Got it Right!!!

SO, American Idol finished up tonight. My family and I have been watching for 7 years....
Back in season 2 when we heard about this "American Idol" from some crazy YW leaders. They were obsessed and Lauren and I made fun of them. Well in season 3 we tried watching it, and well, WE GOT HOOKED. WE didn't really have a favorite, but this person-- not the winner-- was incredible and now has an oscar as well as some other awards for her star in the movie Dream Girls

Season 4-- we of course are now hooked and are watching this season too. THis was Lauren's favorite season . Carrie Underwood was the winner of it and now is a HUGE country music star. She is good. Take a listen in one of her performances from the show where Simon said, "you will not only win this show but sell more records then any/all (can't remember) other winners combined"

Season 5 and Season 6 kind of lost their spunk for us. We watched, but weren't all thrilled. THeir winners were Jordan Sparks and Taylor Hicks who disappear off the face of the earth but make their appearence on the finale.
Season 7 was a different story. I LOVED season 7 probably because it had my boy, David Archuleta- LOVED HIM!! Been to all of his performances!! Idol tour, His personal tour, His Christmas Tour-- I have both of his CD's... well if you didn't watch the above performances, you need to watch this one because it is SOOOOOOOO good . He was not the winner, but I still love him. You have to fast forward a little to the actual performance

Isn't he good??? I love him.
Season 8-- For me and my mother, we were not happy with the winner Kris Allen. We are Adam Lambert fans and don't care what you all say. He was good! I couldn't find a video

AND NOW SEASON 9 AMERICA GETS IT RIGHT!! LEE DEWYZE IS THE WINNER!!!!!!! HE IS THE ULTIMATE EXAMPLE OF AN AMERICAN IDOL-- GOING FROM A PAINT SALESMEN TO THE AMERICAN IDOL IF YOU DIDN"T WATCH ANY OF THESE VIDEOS, PLEASE WATCH THIS LAST ONE BECAUSE IT IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD

It hurts Today

SO here I am over a week post operation now. Today was not a good day. It was nice to see some ward members and family but I think I over did it this weekend. The wound area is hurting a lot today. I don't know if it is just the skin around the scar that is waking up and not liking the feeling or what but it hurts and is bugging me alot today. I think I was too busy this weekend-- Working with the YW yesterday morning, movie last night, church today (I LOVED seeing the ward members and my primary kids), and a visit to the grandparents tonight. I think it was a little too much. I have been a good girl and not taking the pain killers all week. BUt tonight I feel apart physically and emotionally and needed to take one. So what is on the agenda? well here I am laying with ice on my neck? Tomorrow? RELAXATION!!!! And ice Ice ICE the neck.

1 Week Post Operation

So we are pretty much one week post operation tomorrow. I am doing pretty good. My energy is like a roller coaster-- I am full of energy, then I am dead tired. I am eating solid foods. I drove for the first time yesterday-- yahoo!! The only thing that is a little annoying today is the scar area. It is still ster-stripped shut but super tender. And the skin around it is still a little puffy and numb (weirdest feeling) but anyways.

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and lovely treats. You are too kind and I am grateful for great friends and family
Well PEACE OUT!! Hopefully next update I will have tape off and can show you the whole scar.

So Long Gene!

So on Friday May, 14 Gene and I broke up FOREVER!!! It was a rough relationship. He was fat and taking up way to much space in my life. Ok ok, instead of making this into some complicated story, I am going to write about my experience
Here is a pic BEFORE Gene came out

So we woke up at 5 am, my mom, dad, and I drove to the new Intermountain Riverton Hospital. We had to be there at 6:15 am. SO we got there right on time, we were seriously the 1rst people in the hospital. It was so quiet and scary. WE got all registered and checked in. Then sitting in the waiting area, some nurse came out and said "Who are you?" I said, "Natalie Stapley" He said, "I must have grabbed the wrong top secret paper because I am sure your not having your prostate operated on" (OK AWKWARD!! HE DIDN"T NEED TO TELL ME THAT! I WAS ALREADY A WRECK AS IT WAS) The nurse really said all that too. I Guess because I looked super onery that morning and he was trying to make light of the situation.

But anyways, they took me back to this prep room and made me put this gown on. Then I sat on this bed and tried to relax. So then ths prep nurse came in and get me started on the IV. She had the hardest time finding my vein. She dug around in my wrist for a while... it got annoying. After a while, I started crying, I was a major emotional wreck. The surgeon came in to see how we were doing, My parents were fine and I was emotional. The part that was scaring me the most was anesthesia (or however the heck you spell that word). THe Anesthesiaologist (or however you spell the title of the guy that puts you too sleep) came in and I asked him questions, "will I wake up?" "will I breathe on my own" and he assured me I was going to be just fine. Then they started this drug on me that was making me kind of dizzy. Then from here I don't remember ANYTHING! I guess they took me in the operating room and I got on the table.
After all that, I woke up in the recovery room and with this cute little nurse staring at me waiting for me to come too. I think I asked her the same question 5 or 6 times, "how did I do?" " how did it go?" "when can I see my mom?" They kept me in the recovery room for like an hour and a half.... longer than usual, finding my room was a mess. Anyways, I finally made it to my room. THey got me going on pain killers like morphine, loratab, and oxygen. It was nice. The day nurses were kinda dumb but my night nurse was really cute and hyper and checked on me all night.
Anyways, everything went really well. I am home recovering. IT is sore, and my energy is quite low. I guess they compare this pain to strep throat but I have never had strep throat so to me it feels like a sore throat and a kinked neck.
Here is a after shot

St. George Ironman!!!!

So this weekend lauren and I and our boss/friend from work had the opportunity to go down to St George and be volunteer lifeguards for the Ironman Triathlon. Let me just start by saying, Ironman athletes are INSANE!!!! The whole race was a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 run (Marathon). It was soooooo cool to be a part of. We got to see the start. The athletes looked like little fishes swimming through that lake.We left friday to drive down to St George. Stayed the night at a un-disclosed location. We had to wake up at 2:45 am!! We had to meet at a place at 3:30 am and then we had to be to the lake at 4am!!! Talk about an early morning. From there the lifeguards got situated. I started getting a little nervous when they were talking about , "if fatalities" , "if CPR situations" like it was a common thing. Talking to Lauren, she says it is a common thing if you are not prepared for the cold water. Luckily we didn't see anything that scary. There were about 2300 athletes from ALL over the world competing. They varied in age range from 18-77 years old. I did know two of the competitors. Anyways, we had a fun day!!! It was a really neat expirence to be a part of. Here are a few pics from the event.
